There’s a sure-fire method to speed up your progress in the gym.
And it will also help you speed up your career.
This method will get you fitter, build muscle, tone up or lose weight.
And help you get a promotion, get a pay rise or change career.
Let me tell you what I mean…
A couple of years ago I started working with Zack.
Zack’s a personal trainer.
I wanted to lose fat, build
muscle and get fitter. And I did. The sessions were great.
So great that after a while I got it into my head that “I know how to do this now”.
I became a bit of a smarty-pants. I thought I didn’t
need Zack anymore.
So I joined the local gym and started working out by myself.
And even though it’s been going fine, I had a niggle at the back of my mind. A niggle that
I haven’t been seeing the same results.
So I’ve started working with Zack again.
And boy has it been a revelation.
We’ve only been training together for a few weeks, but I can already notice the difference.
We had a session yesterday and today my whole body is aching.
I can feel a tiredness in my
legs…
My arms are sore…
And I know I’ve been put through my paces.
I never felt
this zonked when I worked out solo, even though the weights I'm using now are half the weight that I was using by myself.
In fact we’re not using weights at all for some exercises.
And I can still tell that the workouts
are a lot more effective. It’s like night and day.
I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised.
I know I wasn’t always fully in the zone when I worked out alone.
I’d check Whatsapp, surf the net between sets or even skip sets completely.
But the PT sessions are much more disciplined.
Zack’s constantly correcting my form. Making improvements, tweaks and suggestions.
He’s picking up on things that have never crossed my mind…
(like how I’m breathing)
…and giving me advice on nutrition, running and rest.
And all this is motivating me to push forward. I’ve got a pep in my step thinking about how the training will help.
And guess what?
None of this is unique to fitness.
It applies to all sorts of coaching. Like career coaching and life
coaching.
You see, the role of a coach is to help people hit their goals.
A coach will make sure you’re heading in the right direction….
Get you thinking about things you never would’ve considered…
Give you advice and guidance…
And keep you motivated.
Result? You’ll achieve your goals much faster than you would if you were working by yourself.
And maybe set some new goals too.
