Get this:
87% of UK workers think they work more efficiently (or as
efficiently) from home.
Instead of in the office.
But according to a BBC article, only 20% of bosses
agree.
This is a huge difference!
I’m going to put on my detective hat…
Dust off my magnifying glass…
And try to figure out what’s going on here.
My well-considered conclusion:
There’s some skulduggery at play.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that some employees say they work better from home when they know they don’t.
Of
course, some employees will be more efficient wfh.
But some won’t.
And saying the opposite would be like turkeys voting for Christmas.
Because these workers would get dragged straight back in to the office...
And lose all their wfh benefits.
Benefits like more daily flexibility...
Avoiding the hassle of the commute...
Or better work/life balance.
And what’s the common thread running through each of these benefits?
It’s time.
Wfh gives you more control over your time.
You can manage your schedule…
Not waste time commuting …
And have more time to spend on things which are important to you.
Clearly people value their time. This is why they want to wfh.
And I’m on the same page.
Time is important to me too.
I know I lead a richer
life when I manage my time better.
That’s the bottom line.
But sometimes I feel like time is slipping away…
Or there’s just not enough time to get everything done.
Which is why I’ve created a short course.
I’ve called it the Free Time Challenge.
And if you want to manage your time more effectively, you should join me in the challenge.
This is how it will work…
The challenge will take
place over email. No Zoom calls. No video recordings. Just email. Nice and simple.
It will start this Monday 17th October and run for 5 consecutive days.
Every day I’ll send out an email. It’ll take no more than 5 minutes to read.
The emails will contain prompts.
Some of these
prompts will be concepts and ideas. And some will be tools and tactics.
They’ll cover areas like
procrastination. Energy. Boundaries. Distractions. And your identity.
All designed to help you manage your time more effectively.
And because it’s you reading the prompts, you’ll come away with insights and actions tailored just for you.
And here’s the best part:
The challenge will be super affordable.
It will go on sale at 5pm tomorrow (Wed) and the sale will end at 5pm the next day (Thurs).
So keep an eye on your inbox.
I can’t wait to see you in there.
Catch you soon.
