It’s a question I often get asked.
And I understand why. Coaching is still relatively unknown.
So there’s some confusion out there.
And there’s a lot of hogwash out there too.
See, coaching isn’t therapy or counselling.
It isn’t mentoring or offering advice.
And it certainly isn’t inspiring you to dance around a
moonlit totem pole while you chant affirmations and shake your booty.
So what exactly is coaching?
I think of a coach in terms of 7 Cs:
The Catalyst: A coach gives you the spark to get going
The Conduit: A coach connects you with your inner wisdom
The Cheerleader: A coach encourages you to hit your goals
The Challenger: A coach galvanises you to reach new heights
The Caddy: A coach helps you find your way (while you play the shots)
The Conqueror: A coach helps you overcome obstacles and challenges
The Creator: A coach works with you to create
positive changes in your life
Bottom line:
Coaching isn’t about taking a recipe book off the shelf and following it step by step.
Instead, it’s about supporting you to create your very own recipe book. Recipes to live an authentic and fulfilling life.
