I was listening to one of my favourite podcasts the other day.
It’s called:
My
First Million
(I’m a little way off!)
The show’s all about wacky business ideas which have the potential to make gazillions of dollars.
This episode was on artificial intelligence. In particular, business ideas which are now possible thanks to the rebellious power of AI.
The host rattled off funky ideas like AI sales agents, AI deepfake monitoring for celebrities and AI accent customisation for call centres.
But it was his #1 idea which really perked me up.
What he called “the self-doing to do list”.
The AI sets a plan to achieve your goal, and then
enacts it.
Example:
Say you want to lose 10lbs.
Well, the problem isn’t how. We live
in an age where the how is as easy to find as a pack of cards in a magician's pocket.
Instead, the problem for most people is finding the time, discipline, motivation etc to stick to this goal when everyone around you (and maybe even yourself) is trying to knock you off course.
Enter AI.
All you do is plug your goal into the AI and it will generate a rigorous workout plan for you, scan your diary for when you’re free, book your slots at the gym, monitor your form as you're pumping iron, devise a food diary (including a Ben & Jerries cheat day?), order your food for you, track when
you’re running low of supplies using your internet-of-things connected fridge, and even cook all your meals.
The AI takes you as far as it possibly can.
Hence, the self-doing to do list.
All this got me wondering.
If this is true, then “self-doing to do list” doesn’t really describe what’s going on here.
Instead, the AI is
really like the genie’s lamp in Aladdin. It’s a giver of wishes. It can make your dreams come true.
Only you don’t get three wishes with AI.
You have infinite wishes.
And I don’t think it'll be long before you tell your affable AI assistant your deepest desires, sit back with a cup of tea & a chocolate hobnob, and wait for the AI to deliver.
“AI Genie – please find me the house of my dreams, tell me how I can generate enough wealth to
purchase this house, enact this wealth-creation plan, deal with the lawyers, solicitors and estate agents, book my removal van, etc etc”
You get the idea.
Anyway, we’re not here yet.
The next best thing?
I'll venture coaching comes a close second.
Am I suggesting that coaching is akin to gently rubbing a genie’s shiny &
polished lamp and watching your dreams come true in front of your eyes?
Well, I make no guarantees.
But I’ve found coaching to be a trusty way to get clear on what you want and a tried & tested route for making it
happen.
You could say coaching is a catalyst for creation.
