Now I’ve left Casa Grundy and the central London buzz for the suburban bliss of Fort Grundy, my office commute isn’t what it used to be.
The days of grabbing a Lime Bike and breezing to my desk in 10 minutes are over.
Instead, I’ve got the delights of the morning rush hour.
Whenever I catch the train, squeezed in like a sardine and gasping for breath, I always notice the same thing:
iPhones
galore.
Some commuters are watching a movie or scrolling on Dimstagram. Others are playing Candy Crush or a game of chess.
But every so often, amidst the sea of hypnotic iPhones, there’s the occasional rebel writing in a
journal or drawing in a sketchbook.
i.e. a few commuters are flexing their creative muscles while everyone else kills time.
These creative rebels remind me of a geezer from my halls back in my uni days.
While me and my hallmates slurped cider and played poker at our kitchen table, this guy began to code a website.
Long story short, that website turned into a business which scored $6.2m in Series A funding in 2014.
From what Google tells me, his business hasn’t slowed down since.
Thing is, there was nothing special about this geezer. He was a fairly middle of the road, Steady Eddie kind of guy.
But what he did have was a passion for his website and the quiet self-belief to take baby steps while me and my hallmates played Texas Hold’em, got pissed and sat back watching him create his business script by script in a grotty room near Coventry.
It was quite the sight to behold.
That guy left uni with a pep in his step and started hiring staff for his business.
I left uni with a four year hangover, £25k+ of student debt and got a job
working in someone else's business.
Now, don’t get me wrong:
I LOVE playing poker. Always have done and always will.
But this episode opened my eyes.
It showed me that if you put your mind to it and stick to your guns, you really can create something spectacular.
It doesn’t require colossal
effort, a whole load of sacrifice or a bunch of struggle & strain.
You don’t need to be a genius either.
It just means finding an idea you love, showing up, flexing your creative muscles, chipping away and
trusting the creative process.
Which brings me to this:
Until 7pm UK time on Saturday, I’m promoting American supercoach Michael Neill’s latest program Creating the Impossible.
Think of this program as your guide to doing the impossible without pulling your hair out.
All you need to bring to the table is an open mind and something you’d love to create (the more unlikely the better – Michael says it needs to have less than a
20% chance of success).
If you have a dream, project, ambition or goal you’d love to get our of your head and into the world, all the info is here:
https://www.michaelneill.org/cti
p.s. I took part in Creating the Impossible (CTI) in 2023 and it blew me away.
The
principles I learnt during the program opened up a new world for me. They've also become the bedrock of my own coaching.
Because I know first-hand what a life-changing experience CTI can be, I’m throwing two Brucie Bonuses into the mix so you have no reason NOT to sign up for the program.
The first bonus is two 1 hour 1-on-1 coaching calls with me.
(I currently charge £500 for three 1 hour 1-on-1 calls – I’ll let you do the maths)
You can use these two calls however you like. Need some clarity on a decision you’ve been mulling over? Got a challenge you’d like to overcome? Want to spend less time in your head? Would you love to find more day-to-day energy, joy & peace of mind?
Nothing is off the table. It’s totally up to you.
The second bonus?
I’m hosting a one-off group Zoom session for anyone on my newsletter who joins CTI.
I’m
calling this session CTI Cheat Code.
During the session, I’ll be sharing tips, insights and lessons from when I completed the program in 2023. It’s kind of like a backstage pass so you can squeeze every last drop of magic out of your own CTI experience.
I haven’t set a date and time for this call yet. But it’ll probably be a weekday evening UK time in the next few weeks.
To collect these two bonuses, you must email me your CTI receipt by 7pm UK time on Saturday.
If your CTI receipt lands in my inbox even a minute after 7pm on Saturday, it’s too late.
Time’s ticking…
