It's 6.36am.
I'm writing this email from a big, white, woolly rocking chair, deep in the inner recesses of Fort Grundy.
I have a baby draped over my lap, sleeping soundly with an air of casual
entitlement.
My left arm is trapped underneath her.
My laptop is wobbling on my knees and my right hand is typing as I rock the chair slowly backwards and forwards.
Not ideal writing conditions by any stretch.
Truth is, I'm knackered and my brain feels like it's swimming through treacle.
But I wanted to write this email anyway.
Life got in the way yesterday and my usual daily missive fell by the wayside. I didn't have time to write something thoughtful, witty and profound.
I don't have time to write something thoughtful, witty and profound today either!
But I also know that when life gets a bit chaotic, it pays to keep showing up, even if the inner perfectionist in me has been knocked out by tiredness and would rather wait for my brain fog to lift.
It actually feels great to dash off an email like this and not re-write it seventeen times, agonising over every word.
So here we go.
