My glacial-like hobble towards publishing my new book Don't Quit Your Job has hit a juicy and momentous milestone:
I now have a first draft cover back from the Cover Design Guy.
And I have to
say...
I'm underwhelmed.
I want a cover that's crisp and clear. I also want a cover that will catch the eye of stressed out office workers and make it impossible for them to NOT check out the book.
But this draft cover doesn't quite do that and I can't put my finger on why.
With that in mind, are you up for lending me your expert eye?
I made a similar rallying cry a few months ago for feedback on the book itself. I offered those beta-readers five paperback copies of the final book as a thank you and I had 19 people take me up on that.
Unfortunately, the offer of five free books left the harbour a long time
ago.
All I can offer this time is the warm glow that will come from knowing you helped rescue what is currently a very mediocre book cover.
Okay, so here's the deal:
If you'd like to do your best Simon Cowell impression by casting your critical eye over my draft book cover and giving me some brutally honest feedback, hit reply.
Once you do, I'll send you the cover and you can go to town.
I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback.
To fulfilment,
Tom
