I run a forum at work called The Mindset & Clarity Beach Bar.
It’s a place for previous participants in my Mindset & Clarity Workshops to pull up a deckchair, grab a tasty
cocktail and get away from the daily hustle & grind of working for a bank.
There’s 109 colleagues enjoying a cheeky cocktail or two in the Beach Bar right now.
These colleagues have all got access to recordings
from my Mindset & Clarity Workshops (topics like stress, listening, work/life balance, worry, resilience and how to get a good night’s sleep). Sometimes I’ll post a resource, share a link or copy & paste a daily email onto the forum too.
A few months ago I decided to spice things up with a competition.
I made a post asking for suggestions for the Mindset & Clarity Beach Bar’s new house cocktail.
The only rule?
The
cocktail had to be related to Mindset & Clarity.
There were plenty of witty ideas. The Pina Calm-ada and Mai-Taim were close runners up.
But the winner?
I went with two:
The Long Island Iced Clari Tea and The Nostresso Martini.
I’m bringing this up because I’ve decided to run a similar competition
today.
In my email on Monday, I playfully referred to you, my readers, as Zen-terns.
I like this name. It mixes corporate with something more soulful, gives a nod to growth & exploration and it’s not a bad pun either
(imho!)
It also jives with my self-proclaimed moniker, The Buddha of Banking.
But I suspect you might have a better idea.
So what should I call readers of this newsletter?
Whoever sends me the name I like the most will win a free copy of my now-complete but as-yet-unpublished book Don’t Quit Your Job.
If you were part of the small but merry band of beta-readers who fed back on my draft book a couple of months ago and you’re patiently waiting for your five copies, I haven’t forgotten. If you enter today’s competition and you win, I’ll think of another prize instead.
So there we have it.
What word or phrase could I use to describe the readers of this newsletter?
If you’d like to submit an entry or two (no more than a couple of entries per person please) then hit reply to this email by 9am UK time tomorrow (a little under 24 hours
from when I send this email).
To fulfilment,
Tom
