J.R.R. Tolkein took 14 years to write The Lord of The Rings (give or take).
At the rate my new book Don’t Quit Your Job is coming along, I’m giving Tolkein a run for his golden hobbitons.
Although actually, that’s not quite true.
The writing is finished.
But what’s not finished is everything else. I can’t remember who said that once your book is 90% done it’s really only
50% done. But that old chestnut is more true than I realised. So even though the pages are sorted (and looking spiffing, if I do say so myself), I still have the unenviable task of fixing up the cover, the spine, the back, the blurb and the legal stuff which no-one will ever read unless they’re planning to pinch my handiwork.
In the meantime, the good news is
that I’m down to three potential cover designs.
I need three to become one and I was wondering if you could help me with that?
I made a similar rallying cry a year ago for feedback on the book itself. I offered
beta-readers five paperback copies of the final book as a thank you and I had 19 people take me up on that.
(Beta readers – I haven’t forgotten about you. Thank you for your patience!)
That ship sailed a long time
ago.
But then again, all I’m asking for today is a quick scan. So imagine you’re scrolling on Amazon and out of the corner of your eye you spot an intriguing book cover tucked away in the bottom of your screen.
Is it
Cover A, Cover B or Cover C?
If you have a moment to hit reply and let me know which of A, B or C is your favourite, I’d really appreciate it.
To fulfilment,
Tom
