Last year, I wrote an email about my self-proclaimed moniker The Buddha of Banking.
The moniker gets right to the heart of the methods I’ve used to go from exhausted, burnt out and tearing my hair out at my desk to finding a way to actually quite enjoy my job. These are methods rooted in age-old wisdom passed down through
the centuries via word of mouth and ancient texts. And methods which are arguably MORE relevant today than they ever have been (for reasons I won’t go into here).
Hence The Buddha of Banking.
Sure, The Buddha of
Banking isn’t a flashy or sexy moniker like The Wolf of Wall Street.
But then again, you’re more likely to find me sagely stroking my beard by the watercooler than you are to find me launching a stapler across the office floor.
Come to think of it, this is another reason why The Buddha of Banking moniker holds true.
After running over 50 Mindset & Clarity workshops for my esteemed banking colleagues, word has got about. And nowadays it’s not uncommon for a co-worker to seek me out to pick my brains over a muffin and a flat white. It’s sort of
like a City of London Starbucks version of the Buddhist seekers who trek to Tibet to hunt down the Dalai Lama to ask their own soul-searching questions.
Perhaps this “ask me anything” vibe is how the Dalai Lama got his name.
After all, without the AMA he’d just be the Dalai L.
All of which brings me to today.
I’m throwing open the monastery doors with an AMA of my own.
In fact, it’s a LAMA:
Literally ask me anything.
Ask me a question about your career dilemma or workplace wobble. Ask me
about stress or burnout. Ask me about my newsletter or my coaching. Ask me about chess, poker or magic. Or ask me about my daily routine, domestic life at Chateau Grundy or my prediction for the 2026 World Cup.
If you’d like to ask a question, just hit reply and fire away.
I’ll reply to every question.
To fulfilment,
Tom
